There are several kinds of helmets with different functionalities. However, special forces in military like the US Army do not make use of regular tactical helmets. The special forces, US Marine, as well as Navy Seals are known for wearing specially designed tactical helmets and body armor that are specifically tailor-made to suit their area of operation and needs. Here are some of the tactical helmets that are used by some special forces.
- The OPS-Core FAST Helmet

This is a tactical helmet that is majorly worn by special forces units. The Future Assault Shell Technology (also known as the FAST helmet) is a light weighted combat helmet that offers comfort and a measure of ballistic protection. Due to its use of the Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight Polyethylene Fiber (UHMWPE), the helmet weighs about 25% lesser than the standard combat helmets. It is also designed to allow tactical attachments to be mounted on the helmet. Tactical and Communication Protective System (TCAPS) devices can also be attached to the FAST helmet.
- The MICH Helmet
The Modular Integrated Communications Helmet is the select choice of all the US Special Forces. This tactical helmet has an excellent ballistic resistance performance. It is also extremely light weight, therefore providing the wearer with the essential mobility and agility required without sacrificing high-level protection. The helmet also comes with a modular skull foam padding system that allows the wearer to enjoy maximum comfort even after a long wear. The helmet has excellent communication enhancement features with a great headset interface as well as a gas mask.
This helmet is used by the Navy Seals and the United States Marine Corp (USMC) Force Reconnaissance. The helmet allows for the mounting and installation of external attachments such as night vision googles as well as other required gears.
